Lake Saint Louis came into existence under the direction of R.T. Crow who began the city as a joint development in the mid-1960s. The aim of the investors was to develop a private weekend recreational lake community but according to the city’s website, “Mr. Crow felt that the location between two major highways and the westward growth of St. Louis justified the building of a ‘New Town.’” Lake Saint Louis developed quickly and in the mid-1970s Lake Saint Louis became an incorporated municipality.

Modern-day Lake St. Louis is a beautiful city. It is home to many facilities and amenities. Several businesses operate in the city including Starbucks Coffee, Donatelli’s Wine Bar, Lakeside Pub, and Village Café.
